A recent survey from the Victims of Communism Organization found that support for communism amongst Millenials has grown substantially. Further, seventy percent of Millenials support socialism.
The survey found that one in three millennials perceive communism as “favorable.” The study was part of the Victims of Communism’s report, “U.S. Attitudes Toward Socialism, Communism, and Collectivism.” Two thousand one hundred persons in the United States were polled. Further, those surveyed were sixteen and older.
“The historical amnesia about the dangers of communism and socialism is on full display in this year’s report,” said Marion Smith, executive director of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.
“When we don’t educate our youngest generations about the historical truth of 100 million victims murdered at the hands of communist regimes over the past century, we shouldn’t be surprised at their willingness to embrace Marxist ideas,” Smith said. “We need to redouble our efforts to educate America’s youth about the history of communist regimes and the dangers of socialism today.”
The polls also indicated that Millenials consider President Donald Trump the “biggest threat to world peace.” Further, the Millenials ranked Donald Trump more dangerous to world peace than Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, and or Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The youth of the United States desperately needs to further education in historical fact, as they are in danger of repeating history.
Teachers and Professors who are knowledgeable have failed the youth in not instructing them of the happenings of the past.
