Double Homicide Leads to Mystery in Cleveland Tennessee, Police Say Victims were Targeted

Police

Cleveland, Tennessee; two murder victims were located over the past few days, James "Pocket" Ledford and Jaclyn Kay Carroll-Markcloud. Initially, police believed that the murders were separate, however, it appears as though the two victims were targeted.

The body of James Ledford was first found in a 1995 pickup truck; later, the body of Jaclyn Kay Carroll-Markcloud was found on McCann Drive on Wednesday. Investigators are still working to confirm the identity of the second body, and blame decomposition for their difficulty.

However, family members did state that the second body was in fact Ms. Carroll-Markcloud. Investigators said they "believe that there is a connection between this female homicide victim and the Ledford homicide. These homicides do not appear to be random acts of violence, rather crimes that were committed against specifically targeted individuals."

MarkCloud was the last person seen with Ledford before both were confirmed missing and deceased. Police are working to solve the murders.
